Not All Good News, Making Calls, Doing Chores and Checking Out An Old Favourite.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

It felt good getting out of bed this morning knowing that we didn’t have any appointments to deal with today. As soon as I’d finished getting the Window Shades raised and things ready for breakfast I sat down to start my morning reading. I only managed to check the Weather Network for our area when Kathy came downstairs to join me. Watching the Golfers out on the Course left us asking ourselves how should we dress for today because every party of Four that came into view Two were dressed for the cold and Two were dressed for the warmth.

We both downed a second cup of Coffee while at the Computers reading the Blogs we follow, our E-mails and the News Reports about the damage caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The miracles along with the sense of Humanity where people were helping one another out. We also read about additional tragedies that were caused by the storm claiming the lives of Seniors in a Nursing Home in Florida because of the Heat and No Power. We can only pray for those victims. Adding to the sense of Helplessness many are feeling because Jose went from a Hurricane to a Tropical Storm and back to a Hurricane and is now headed up the coast and is expected to hit the Carolinas.

I had a number of Phone Calls to make today. The first was to make our payment to Verizon. The only way I have ever been able to accomplish that task is by talking to someone but today I was able to do it all by myself just using the Keypad on the Phone. Miracles never cease!

My next call was to our Adjuster who I have been leaving voice messages with for nearly Two Weeks. When I spoke to her this morning her attitude was like “Oh Well” you might see your payment in a couple of weeks. If we don’t there is a board that governs the Insurance Companies in Canada and I will not hesitate to contact them.
Our morning and afternoon skies.
I then had to call Stephanie at Leisure Trailer to express how disappointed we are about the way Jayco is handling our repairs. Lucky us, our trailer is the first trailer that has had to go back to the Factory in the Sixty Years that Leisure Trailer has been in business. They have been working with us as much as they can and today we even Brainstormed some ideas about getting better Customer Service from Jayco.

For lunch Kathy made a couple of Ham and Cheese Sandwiches to go with the Greek Pasta Salad along with the Date Squares for dessert.

As soon as we’d finished eating we worked together doing the dishes because Kathy wanted to get back to wrapping the last of the Christmas Gifts we’ll be giving out at our Canadian Thanksgiving.

While Kathy was wrapping Gifts, I had the Waste Tanks to empty and flush. The way the sky looked I was certain I’d be getting wet fairly soon but I kept at my chores. With the Tanks empty I decided to chance cutting our grass. It has been less then a week since it was last mowed but it had already grown over three inches from all the Rain that we have been getting in our area.
Lots of Bees pollenating our flowering shrub.
Even with the slightly cooler temperatures both Kathy and I have been forgetting to stay hydrated. We both were feeling the effects so had to take a break. When we sat down for a brief rest Kathy realized she was still short on Gift Wrapping Materials

With the clouds looking like it would Rain any second we headed back to Amherstburg. Our first stop was at Dollarama where we managed to get the last of the Wrapping Materials.

Since we used the last of the cereal this morning (My fault) our next stop was at Sobeys grocery store to replenish our supply. We were also checking to see if they have their Turkeys out but like Walmart not for another week.

It was past 5:00 and we hadn’t taken anything out of the freezer at Home so we decided to go to Maria’s to eat. We used to go there often when we lived in the apartment in Tecumseh but had appointments in Amherstburg. We had been told it was Under New Management so we thought we’d check it out for ourselves. After placing our orders, we were surprised to figure out that it’s been over Three years since we were there last. Our meal was good but not the quality it used to be.
On our way Home hardly a cloud in the sky.
Notice the trees are starting to change colours.

With clear weather for the next few days a big effort to get chores scratched off our To-Do List will be made. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
