Trailer Dropped Off, Walking The Mall and Seeing A Movie.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

By the time we’d showered and gone to bed last night we were both totally exhausted but sleeping on a strange mattress was not a thing of comfort. Even using our own pillows something just didn’t feel right. Could it have been that we were hearing the sounds of Emergency Sirens blaring through the night or the sound of the Rattling Air Conditioner Fan because the windows would not open to let any fresh air in. When the Alarm went off at 6:30 we were both up knowing we had an early appointment to meet. That was when I noticed that Kathy had mistakenly put our pillows in the incorrect sequence. I would later correct that problem to guarantee a better night’s sleep.

As soon as we were dressed we headed down the hall towards the Lobby. There was a small dining area used for serving Continental Breakfasts. With a small assortment of Cereals, Muffins, Bagels and Breads along with Yogurt, Fruit, Juice and Coffee it made for a lite but satisfying start to our day.

Back at the room while Kathy finished getting herself ready to leave I went outside to prep the truck for traveling.  Fastening the Tonneau Cover back I completed my Circle Check before going inside the trailer. After emptying the Fridge/Freezer yesterday I had left the doors open to defrost the unit. The result was a considerable amount of water that needed to be bailed out before we got underway. As I was closing up there was Kathy walking towards the truck.

We were on our way by 7:20 pulling onto Dougal Avenue and driving the one block north to the eastbound E.C. Rowe Expressway ramp. I had concerns because I knew that there were at least two Construction Zones that we’d be going through and putting up with the Working World Traffic. The first was only a slowdown while the other was stop and go due to its location at the Signal Controlled Intersection at Manning Road.

Not certain the gate at Leisure Trailer would be open I drove over to the Service Road where if need be we could delay our arrival. With luck on our side we could easily see the gate open so after waiting for the onslaught of traffic from both directions to clear we made the final dash to our destination.

After swinging the trailer around in their yard and parking we walked in the Employee Entrance at 7:55 and went straight to Stephanie’s desk. We reviewed the list that I had E-mailed and then I brought up additional concerns that had been noted but never written up. Kathy thought I was knit picking but Stephanie assured her that it was called Warranty Service to be certain everything was working properly in our RV.

Stephanie came outside where we quickly reviewed the list pointing out what we were referring to. She noticed our Step Covers were already wearing and recommended a newer type that should last much longer than a year. While Kathy went with her to look them up I busied myself unhooking. I moved the truck over and finished putting the Wind Deflector down, locking the Hitch and pulling the Tonneau Cover back in place.

With Kathy still inside I went to check what was happening. As I opened the door she was just on her way out. In those few moments when I turned around the Trailer was gone and I hadn’t even heard the Tractor pulling it away. You could barely see the Nose Cap inside the building used specially for Major Repairs and the crew was waiting to get started on it. Now it’s a waiting game and we’ll be certain to have our list with us to check when we pick it up.

Heading back up the Expressway we stopped at our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh where we added our Luggage Set filled with our clothes from the back seat to the pile of Boxes already stored there. With this being a work day the only one home was Sanford.

Kathy wanted to walk around the stores for awhile so I suggested going to the Devonshire Mall. The shortest way was the Expressway but being that it was nearly 9:00 the traffic just crawled along. Traveling two miles took nearly twenty minutes. We parked at the far end of the Mall and stopped for a nature break before continuing our walk down to Sears. They are presently in Receivership here in Canada. Walking through the clothing area everything was in disarray looking more like you were walking through a Goodwill Store but their prices were sky high. No wonder they’re in financial trouble.

We decided to see a movie today but chose to have lunch in the Food Court first. We tried New York Fries where we had two Connie Island Hot Dogs, two Soft Drinks and one Large French Fry to share. They tasted great and we weren’t hungry when we headed to the movies.

We had seen a local review so we thought we’d see Atomic Blonde. Based on a story before the fall of the Iron Curtain there were only a few pauses in the action. There were plenty of twists and turns that really kept you guessing as well. Lots of Violence and some brief Nudity. We both gave it four out of five.

The Air Conditioning in the Theater had us shivering by the time we left. To warm up we drove over to the nearby JYSK to walk around to warm up. We also walked around Dollar Tree where we did manage to find a Sticker we wanted. It was now past 4:30 and we were starting to feel hungry so we drove to the nearby Michigan Diner where we had the Seniors Fish and Chips.

We arrived back at our Hotel room by 5:30 to find some messages waiting for us. We’ll definitely be sleeping soundly tonight. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
