Lost Camera and Helping A Dear Friend.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

We once again slept in until nearly 9:00 this morning and we couldn’t blame it on the rain making us sleep. It was the Sunshine seeping below the Window Curtain that actually woke us up but being that it is the weekend we had an extra hour to get to the Lobby Breakfast Area for our Continental Breakfast. At least today nobody asked about our Coffee Mugs even though there were a few gestures made in our direction and the mouthed words to spouses that we had Coffee Mugs.

Back in our room we got caught up on our reading before heading out the door around 11:30. We needed to take the truck today but before driving too far I had to transfer my Toolbox and other Tools from the trunk of the car.

Last night we couldn’t locate our Canon Powershot-D30 which we always bring to the Computers at night. We had intended to take pictures of our get-together with our friend Pauline yesterday but suddenly not being able to locate the camera we just let it pass. After gathering the Tools from the trunk, I did a quick check of the car from the passenger side but couldn’t find the camera so we left without it.

Our first stop was our Climate Controlled Storage Unit at Guardian Storage where we first left some Christmas Gifts that had been left behind in our closet. When we were emptying it out for service we found them so today they were put with the rest of the pile. Before we head south last winter we stored anything that could freeze in our Climate Controlled Unit. Since I planned to do some wood repair this afternoon we needed our wood glue.

Our next stop was Taco Bell where we shared a Crunch Wrap Slider Combo. Since it comes with two Sliders we ordered a Beef Slider for Kathy and a Spicy Chicken for me. The only thing we needed to do was to buy a second Soft Drink. We were more then satisfied by simply sharing the French Fries.

Our next stop was at our friend Kathie’s apartment. I first met Kathie and Ross over forty years ago. Our kids called them Aunty and Uncle as their kids did to us. Ross passed away last year and Kathy and I have tried coaching Kathie through the grieving process and to help her with little projects. This past winter while we were away Kathie tried rearranging the furniture in her bedroom by herself. Dragging modern furniture on a carpeted floor does and did lead to a disaster. When Kathie had moved her dresser, she snapped off one of the rear legs.

We had only been there a short while when Christine who got married last fall arrived. Her mom had told her we’d be here today so she wanted to come and visit as well. While those three were visiting I was busy in the bedroom removing Kathie’s dresser drawers, taking the mirror off and flipping it over. It took nearly two hours to make the repair but when it was finished there was barely a mark where it had been fixed and it was stronger then when it was first made. Thankfully I carry an assortment of fastening devices in organizers in a cabinet in the truck bed that we jokingly refer to as my Hardware Store.

I barely had a chance to say Hello to Christine when she was leaving to go home. Kathie insisted that we stay for supper. We had Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Carrots for a side. She also had some Ice Cream for dessert. We continued visiting until it was nearly 7:00. We’ll be having Kathie out for a visit when we get back in our Home out at Wildwood Golf and RV Park.

Since the camera had been in my pocket last evening when we left to go have supper with Pauline we stopped at the restaurant to see if had been found. Nothing had been turned in. Getting back to the Hotel Parking Lot we checked the car again this time from the driver’s side. Nothing from the front seat but when I opened the back door there was the tip of the Wrist-Strap sticking out from under the seat.

Tomorrow we hope to have a few more things to talk about and pictures as well. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Sounds like you two had a nice day.
When Tom and I stay in a motel I like to take coffee mugs and glass, glasses with us. We have never enjoyed the disposable ones either.

  4. Look,, if you going to post a blog what good is it without pictures
Now I may not be the smartest knife in the drawer and I didn't fall off the turnip wagon but I've never in all my years seen a camera strap take a decent picture
So would you please be so kind as to go back and attach that strap to the camera and stop playing
