Change Of Plans, Visiting and Thunderstorm Rolls Through.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After laying awake for some time I finally got out of bed by 7:30 this morning and was able to start my morning routine and finish my morning reading before Kathy got up shortly after 8:00. After nearly choking yesterday she was having trouble breathing so ended up having to take a Tylenol Night-time Sinus Tablet. It still took her nearly an hour to fall asleep but she didn’t oversleep and wasn’t feeling groggy.

With breakfast over we returned to the Computers to finish our reading and Coffee. I even took a half hour to do a puzzle while we talked about things we need to do before the trailer goes in for service. Once our inside chores were complete I stared sorting the rest of the wooden pieces putting them into each cabinet they’ll be installed in. Realizing it would be better to run errands today and be able to spend the entire day tomorrow getting projects completed here at Home we made a change of plans.

While Kathy made her Homemade Tomato and Cheese Soup she had me checking to see if I had started documenting the modifications we have already done to our Home. I read the existing list to her and she was amazed that we’ve only made Twenty-Six Modifications so far where we made Sixty-Two to our Avalanche fifth-wheel. I explained that was because we had the Avalanche for five years where it hasn’t been a year yet for our Eagle

Lunch was delicious as always because Kathy knows exactly what ingredients to add and how to season things. As soon as we finished eating we were out the door headed for Windsor with the truck.

There were a number of things we had to do so we had written a list but even as we were driving along we discussed possible changes to the list. We had planned on purchasing an 8’x10’ Plastic Tarp to cover our Bed to keep the Dust off that might get blown in the trailer when the Main Slide is removed for repair. By talking about it we instead stopped at Dollarama and bought an 8’x12” Plastic Paint Sheet for a lot less then we would have paid for the Tarp

Our next stop was the 7-11 Variety Store where we purchased more minutes for Kathy’s cell phone. Since she only uses it for emergencies when she is by herself that was what she wanted. The problem was we were so busy with changing sites that we passed the expiration date. With it only being about two weeks late she only lost a few minutes but not her Cell Phone Number.

With all the Detours that Construction Season brings we needed to do a bit of backtracking. We headed back to Guardian Storage where we collected our Mail and then went to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to add some Storage Bins that due to the Extra Pantry Shelf Modification are no longer needed in the trailer but she sees another use for them coming up soon. We returned to the Office because we needed to get more Cardboard Boxes and they had the same size we needed for the same price that U-Haul sells them for.

In our Bedroom Cabinet that we use for additional Clothing Storage there is no light making it sometimes difficult to see. This past winter while in Quartzsite I replaced all the 12-volt Incandescent Bulbs with L.E.D. for around Ten Dollars each. Today we stopped at Princess Auto where we picked up two Indoor 12-volt L.E.D. Light Fixtures for only Fifteen Dollars each. One will be installed in the Cabinet and the other will be used in a future modification.

Our daughter Karen had offered us the use of some space in her Garage to temporarily store what we have to take out of our trailer. So that was our next stop where we were able to empty the backseat of the truck. We also had the chance to visit with Sandford for a few minutes.

Thinking we could take Manning Road to get Home we were shocked to find it closed off at the E.C. Rowe Expressway. Another detour back to Lesperance Road all the way to County Road 42 before reconnecting to Manning Road. By the time we were on North Malden Road it was already past 3:00 so we just kept going in the direction of Amherstburg. Everything was going well until we were nearly there only to find a huge pile of Gravel had been dumped on Pickering Avenue so the contractors could haul it to where work on a Water Main is being done.

Another Detour that added another twenty minutes before we arrived at the Pharma Care pharmacy. It was interesting because they had everything ready except Kathy’s Nose Spray. By the time Darren got that straightened around it was past 4:00 and we were getting hungry.

Our next stop was McDonalds where we each had their Sweet Chili Wrap combos for our supper. Satisfying and Healthy what more can you ask for.

It wasn’t quite 5:00 when we arrived at Walmart. Kathy was surprised to see they were already selling Fall/Winter clothing. We checked the Seasonal Area to find most of the Garden Ornaments gone from the shelves.

We arrived at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s home just before 6:00 for our weekly visit. The skies were looking quite threatening and we had barely sat down to visit when they opened up. For the next Two-hours the Rain would last about Ten minutes accompanied by distant Thunder, stop for Five minutes and start all over again. As always we had our usual Enjoyable visit that was filled by Laughter

The weather for the next couple of days will practically be the same as today but I can still get things accomplished. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. I hope your slide repairs go smoothly. You are much more patient with all that moving and storage than I would be!!

  4. I am catching up. First off Tom and I would like to wish you a Happy Belated Anniversary, Kathy and Rick!

You two have certainly been busy getting your new site set up. Nice solar lighting and all the planting you have been doing looks great. To bad about the burning bush.

Like how you added all the extra shelving inside.

Hope everything goes well when you bring your home in for repairs.
