Inhouse Appointment, Non-Stop Rain and Rescheduled Visit.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

As soon as we got up this morning there was no hesitation about turning on the Furnace as well as the Electric Fireplace. With the steady falling rain outside the inside temperature was down to 37 F (3 C) when we got up at 7:30. With the 100% Humidity there was no way that the Fireplace by itself would ever make us feel comfortable in any decent time. Kathy appreciated having Hot Cereal for breakfast as well as being able to hold her Tea Cup to warm her hands.

After breakfast this morning we didn’t go on our Computers instead we put them away and got our morning chores completed. With the loss of space due to our defective slide we needed to make as much space as possible because Kathy had an 11:00 in house appointment. Once everything was ready Kathy started reading another book while I moved the truck to one of our weekend neighbour’s site before starting to make phone calls.

The first call was to Green Shield to discuss why my CPAP Mask Liners were not being covered. Without those Liners to protect my face it becomes very irritated and painful where the mask continually rubs on my face. Once Laura had all the necessary information she submitted it for review so it will be look into it further and call me within a few days.

The next call was to Windsor Starters Powerhouse to get prices on AGM Batteries. As mentioned a few times we use more Battery Power then many others because we both use CPAP Machines to sleep as well as using our Computers. When Boondocking “Off the Grid” if we have consecutive cloudy or rainy days in a row we have had to use the generator to charge the Batteries we have; there wasn’t enough stored power. By increasing our storage it should eliminate part of that problem.  In the past it was cheaper to by the AGM Batteries for our trailers in the US but with the price that I was quoted today we’ll be adding them to our Battery Bank before we head south in November.

Just before 11:00 Mary from Healthy Heals arrived. Because Kathy has Diabetes and Foot Problems our Health Care Provider pays for at Home treatment. Mary has been treating Kathy for quite some time and was very anxious to hear how our trip went. By the time she left Kathy’s feet felt much better.
Streams of rain running down both sides of the street.
With the rain still coming down lunch was definitely Hot Soup with a Hot Coffee. Once our Computers were set back up we spent most of the afternoon getting caught up on our reading and what is happening in the world.

By 4:30 we were tired of being cooped up so we headed for Amherstburg. Everywhere we looked water was starting to fill ditches, cover roads and fill up farmer’s fields. Environment Canada had issued a Warning stating that because of all the recent rain this area has seen the ground Oversaturated which could cause localized Flooding

It was nearly full by the time we returned.
Since we couldn’t use the Weber or Stove to cook supper we decided to go out to eat. We found this small restaurant called Mealtime Express some time back and have enjoyed eating there many times since. If you don’t know its location behind the Canadian Tire Gas Bar in Amherstburg it could easily be missed. We both enjoyed the Perch Dinners and were quite satisfied when we left.

Our next stop was to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s for our weekly visit. We normally do this on Wednesday evenings but for the time being Melissa has meetings that she has to attend on those nights. Like our RV Plans they’re written in Jell-O and are quite flexible. We had our usual fun visit sharing information and laughter.

It was nearly covered when we returned.
On our way back to Wildwood Gulf and RV Park the water level had risen in most of the ditches and the farmer’s fields were starting to look like sheets of glass. The rain hasn’t stopped all day and according to the Meteorologists the rain won’t stop until some time on Saturday. Anyone have any Building Plans for an Ark? Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
