Cold Night’s Sleep, Rewired Panel, Hasty Prescription Pickup and Mounting Our Max-Air Exhaust Vent.

While turning down the bed last night I don’t know why I figured that if the outside temperature was only going down to the Low Forties and we were not running any heat that we wouldn’t need our Heavy Bedcover. Both Kathy and I spent the night trying to snuggle close in an attempt to warm up but it didn’t help. The fact that we both wear CPAP Masks to sleep didn’t help as they exhaust a fair amount of cold air which only added to the problem. After continually waking on and off throughout the night we both needed to sleep later this morning.

Once we’d finished eating breakfast there seemed to be a larger amount of reading to do when we got to the Computers. When I inspected our Countdown Counter this morning it was reporting an accurate time unlike the first number of attempts made the other day.

Even with the forecasted warmer day time high each time we looked outside as people were walking by they were all bundled up as if it was about to Snow. Once we were finished our reading and morning chores we both started doing more research for our upcoming travels. 

Last night's Leftovers, today's Lunch

For our lunch we enjoyed the Leftovers from last night’s supper from the Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant in Amherstburg. It was satisfying but as mentioned in last night’s Blog we’ve had better from a number of restaurants in the area. With our meal over Kathy returned to the computer while I started working on the Electrical Power Panel in the kitchen.

One of the chores we need to accomplish before we head back to the Southwest this fall is to install our new Max-Air Exhaust Vent we purchased while at the Escapade in March. When I checked for 12 Volt power to the bedroom I was disappointed to find there was only a 120 Volt feed. Instead of having to run a new 12 Volt line to the bedroom the alternative was to find the correct 120 Volt feed wire and disconnect it from its power source then reroute it to the 12 Volt power side of the Power Panel. There was even a spare 12 Volt fuse location that was open and the wire simply capped behind the Panel. It didn’t take long to have the wires to the front vent opening set to be used as 12 Volt feed and if the need ever arises to install a second AC instead the wiring can easily be reversed.

Just as I finished the wiring Pharma Care in Amherstburg called to say that Kathy’s new Antihistamine Spray had finally been approved by her family doctor and was ready for pick up. It was nearly 4:15 so we didn’t waste any time heading out the door. We took Alma Avenue going into town so we would avoid the construction delays on Pickering Street.

It was 4:45 by the time we got the prescription and headed over to McDonalds where we splurged and each got a Quarter Pounder with Cheese for supper.  We weren’t wasting any time because I was hoping to get home on time for the News but we had to stop at Sobeys grocery store for a few things we’d forgotten the other day. 

Off with the old.

We arrived back Home only missing the first five minutes of the 6 o’clock News. As soon as the local weather forecast was over we shut it off and I headed outside. After gathering all my tools and the Max-Air Exhaust Vent I climbed up to the roof. 

Getting the old Dicor off.

Anyone that has ever tried removing old Dicor sealer off anything on an RV roof knows how tedious a job it is. It took nearly an hour before it was all cleaned and the original vent removed. I then had to mount the new Base Ring before attaching the upper part of the vent. The sun was already starting to set by the time I finished up there which meant the temperature was also dropping. Once everything was done it felt good to be off the roof and inside a warm trailer. Since the inner trim needs to be cut I’ll finish it off in the morning.

Checking my E-mail this evening I received a message from our local Minister of Provincial Politics Assistant about the Personal Use Only Sticker. It was not the answer that we were hoping for so we’ll just continue to find a way to get this set straighten out somehow.
