Cooler Catchup To Chores, Tasty Supper and Answering Some Questions.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Once again the warmth that we felt under our Winter Bedsheets was more appealing then getting up and feeling the cold air inside the trailer. When our bodies found it necessary that we finally get moving the first thing I did was to turn on our Electric Fireplace before getting things ready for breakfast. According to the local news that we would later watch the low for last night had been 37 F (3 C) but we were our own heat sources throughout the night.

With our breakfast over we settled in on the Computers to get caught up on what is happening in the world and to finish our morning Coffee/Tea before turning to other things that needed doing. After our morning chores were finished Kathy wanted to get back to making her Data Entrees on our April expenditures. My chore was to get caught up on our Laundry especially since it hasn’t been done since Amarillo, Texas.

After sorting the Laundry I was surprised how the breeze seemed to cut through me as I loaded the truck. It reminded me of the windy days we had while in the Desert around Quartzsite.

I had another surprise when I walked in to the Park Laundry Room. They had not only replaced all the older Washers and Dryers but added more machines. As Kathy and I have said before the owners of the Park Joe and Val listen to what their residents suggest and are constantly making improvements to make it more enjoyable. The costs did increase but the capacity of the machines did as well.

Once I had the wash transferred to the Dryers I walked back Home where Kathy had made sandwiches for lunch. She was impressed about the upgrades to the Laundry Room that I told her about. Kathy was telling me how she had to figure out the days that we are in the U.S. to know if we needed to fill in our 8840 Form. I had to show her I had already added that 8840 Calculator on her Expenditure Spreadsheet and that she had used it before. Since we didn’t go south for the Winter of 2015/16 in preparation to go Fulltime she had forgotten it was there. It was close to 2:00 by the time I drove back with the folded clothes and started putting it away.

It is amazing how making one simple phone call can tie you up for hours. That was what the rest of my afternoon was like. I finally left a voice mail to get information and since it was nearly 5:00 figured we’d hear back tomorrow. So after Kathy and I enjoyed the Zucchini and Steaks that were grilled for supper on our Weber the phone rang just before 6:00 in answer to the voice message.  Wow, That's Service!

Because I don’t reply to comments as a comment I do try to answer most questions we get from them as part of the Blog. We do notice a difference how our Arthritis feels now that we are back Home in McGregor compared to being in the Desert. The dryer climate does relieve a lot of the swelling and pain. Next, we heard from our RV Dealer that it will take a week for Jayco to make the replacement parts for our slide and it could take another week before they are delivered. That might give a hint towards the next question. Because we can’t use our large kitchen slide we can not use our oven which means any baking or cooking we are doing right now is being done on our Weber Q. We can reach to put the kettle on or a pot of soup but that’s about it. Our silverware and other cooking utensils are in the cupboards between the slide and the kitchen sink. Really awkward to even wash dishes that we can use. Not a very comfortable situation.

The best comment was that at least we are back in familiar territory back in McGregor and that is true. The only downside to it at this moment is that it seems the cold weather that we went south this winter to avoid has returned so that we wouldn’t miss out on it. It must have followed us south this winter as well.

We’re not sure what we are doing yet tomorrow with the wet weather that is being forecasted but we’ll be keeping busy. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. We're watching the weather closely to get over the pass. The weatherman said yesterday they had 9 inches of snow.
