Accomplishments and Weird Coincidence.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Even going to bed after midnight last night I was still up before 7:30 this morning. The temperature was comfortable enough that we slept with the windows open so I woke feeling very refreshed. I barely had the computer turned on when Kathy was up and about. Once breakfast was over the first thing I review on the computer was the Weather Network to see what our day was going to feel like.

Luckily there was a slight but steady breeze blowing this morning so after watering the grass and flowers I started doing some light maintenance on the car such as topping off valuable fluid levels. Kathy came out to join me at that time and we tried our luck at refinishing the headlight lenses using toothpaste. The finished product looked better than before but there still seems to be too many abrasion scratches in the plastic. We’ll try again after doing more research on the process.

The heat was starting to build by that time so we headed inside to work on the computers and make some phone calls. One of the Cedar trees we’d bought at the end of April looks like it’s not going to make it. We’ve tried a couple of special plant medicines in hopes of helping it but we have our doubts. When I called Canadian Tire where we had purchased it they said to bring in the receipt and they would exchange it. The next call was to my aunt Anna in London, Ontario setting up an appointed time that we’ll be able to visit next week.

While Kathy was busy making reservations I went back to creating a memorial card for my friend Ross who passed at the end of May. Kathy had found a nice prayer online for it so after I dressed it up personalizing the information and then adjusted a photo as a watermark on the page. After Kathy’s approval it was printed and it came out great.
The white background appears bluish in this photo
due to reflection from the glass in the picture frame..
The yellow rose represents Remembrance
While having lunch Kathy suggested a trip to Essex to pick up a candle to go with it. As we were about to leave the warmer temperatures were becoming noticeable so we turned the Air Conditioner on and closed the windows and vents before going out the door.

Our first stop in Essex was the Dollar Tree where we wanted to pick up some inexpensive cake serving spatulas that we wouldn’t worry about getting back. We were walking all the aisles when we heard someone calling our name. It was Lynn who used to be the building manager when we first rented our apartment at Tecumseh Terrace. She had retired over a year ago and it was shortly after a visit to her beautiful Park Model trailer that we’d decided to become Fulltimers. We had planned on going to visit her but had been too busy to get there. We talked for a while before making plans to get together later this month.

Our next stop was The Light of Hope candle store. When we explained what we were looking for they lead us straight to the Memorial Candles. Other than Ross’s information the inscription on this candle was the same as the Memorial Card that I’d just produced this morning. It was perfect. We continued to look around the store and were amazed that many of the candles looked like food and if you hadn’t see the wicks you might have bit into a non-tasty treat.
It was 4:00 by the time we got Home and the trailer was nicely cooled down. While Kathy was busy making a macaroni and cheese side dish inside I grilled a couple of nice steaks on the Weber Q outside. The weather report is for Humidex readings above the Century Mark for the next few days so it’s looking like the A.C. will be on a while longer. We are also hoping to hear from Jim at Windsor Gas and Diesel that the truck is ready to come home. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I used a kit from Canadian Tire to clean the headlights on our coach and car, works wonderful and so easy.

  2. I have used the kit from Canadian Tire and it lasted about a year and the lenses were just as bad again. In the end we replaced the headlights.

  3. We've tried everything imaginable for the headlights and while they look good for awhile, nothing seems to last.
