An Unexpected Awakening.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both managed to fall soundly to sleep last night and were in no way going to wake up until morning when at 1:45 the alarm went off. No not a fire alarm or a clock that we had set to wake us up. Yesterday Kathy chose to do thorough dusting of the office window in our apartment. To do so she had to remove a clock we have placed on the window sill. When she was finished with dusting the blinds she also decided to wipe the dust off the clock thus accidentally setting the alarm to go off at a time nobody needed to get up. After struggling to get back to sleep we slept a little later this morning. We had a good laugh about it at breakfast.

No matter how many people tell us that we don’t have to make plans when we travel Kathy just can’t travel without knowing what we can see in an area. Her theory is that possibly we might never return to someplace we go so we’ll see the attractions the first time we visit an area and if there is a second visit it will be at a much more relaxed pace. She also focused contacting more businesses online about our future address change.

Since it’s been nearly two weeks since the last time I did the laundry including the bed linens so today I needed to get caught up. By the time I got down to the laundry room all the machines were in use. After waiting around for about fifteen minutes they amazingly all finished at nearly the same time. Kathy and I were able to have lunch after I had everything in the drying cycle.

Once the folded clothes had been put away we needed to run a few errands. The first was across the street to the local branch of the Post Office. Even though Kathy had paid for their services online they only issued her a bar-code that she had to take to a Post Office to get a receipt.

Next we needed to check if there was mail in our new mail box so we went to Guardian Storage to pick it up. It almost felt like the apartment because a person who had the box previously still had mail arriving there as well.

We also stopped at the Dollar Store for a few inexpensive supplies before driving across the road to Walmart where we picked up an additional four clear storage containers so we can accomplish more packing.

Tomorrow we’ll keep chipping away at getting ready for our Fulltiming Adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Benefits of Flex Time

A Cochrane review of ten studies found that control over one's own work hours yielded health benefits in areas such as blood pressure and sleep.

  1. Tell Kathy it is just fine to make plans. We do it all the time. We are of the same state of mind. We don't know if we will be back so I look for as many things to do in the area as possible. You have to do what is comfortable for you two.

You have to do what works for you, no need to explain.

  3. One good thing about making plans is that you can change your mind later.... the only folks you need to listen to is yourselves.
