Cleaning Up and Making Big Progress.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Isn’t that the way it always works make an appointment later in the morning so you don’t have to rush and what happens “You Sleep In”. We had little time for breakfast and even less time to read at the computers.

By 10:30 we were out the door and on our way to Fantastic Sam’s for our haircuts. Kathy really needed a good trimming but I barely needed a touch up around the ears. Since we stayed home for this winter I needed to let my hair thicken up a bit for insulation because there really isn’t that much there.
Tying down Plastic Storage Shelf.
On the way back to the apartment we stopped at Walmart first for Kathy to find another lightweight hoodie so she’d have more than one to use as a sweater. We also looked for more large clear storage bins and instant decaf coffee which for some reason has become impossible to find in our area and is the only type Kathy can drink. Before we knew it we were well past 12:30 so we stopped at the instore McDonalds to have our lunch. On our way home we stopped at Zehr’s, Food Basics and Metro grocery stores and none of them had any instant decaf coffee.
Kathy repacking Plastic Storage Shelf
Once back at the apartment it didn’t take long to get changed and start hauling things out to the truck while Kathy packed up two more boxes and a small bin from our plastic storage shelf. Our objective was to start bringing things we know that we won’t be needing from now until after we begin Fulltiming to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. With all the boxes loaded in the truck the last thing to go was the plastic storage shelf which I tied down in the bed of the truck. Even with the outside temperature sitting at the freezing mark and the sun shining the damp cool breeze seemed to chill you right to the bone.
This is just a start of things to be stored.
At Guardian Storage Yard it didn’t take long to get everything unloaded and inside where the 48 F (9 C) almost felt too warm compared to the outside temp. While Kathy replaced the supplies in the plastic storage shelf I began assembling our metal clothing rack that will be used for storing some clothes that will remain on hangers.

The sun was already starting to set when we got home so we simply ordered Chinese Food from next door while I moved the last shelving unit from inside the office closet. The food was delicious and filling as always but while moving the homebuilt shelving unit into the hallway I noticed a problem with our utility cart. While Kathy did the dishes I needed to go to Home Hardware to get parts to repair the wheels which delayed us by nearly an hour. Then it was fun maneuvering such a large shelving unit down the hall into the elevator and finally fastening it into the truck bed.

It was well after 6:00 by the time we left the apartment headed towards Amherstburg and our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s home. It only took minutes for Kevin and I to unload the shelving unit into the garage but we were both feeling frozen by the time we got into the house. Luckily Melissa had warm tea and a lite snack waiting to warm us up. Our weekly visit had its usual share of laughter as well as serious discussion but as usual was very enjoyable.

We stopped at the Amherstburg Walmart Kathy went looking for the decaf coffee while I went in search of the clear storage bins. We both struck out! Next we stopped at the No Frills Grocery Store where Kathy managed to get two jars of No-Name Brand decaf coffee at a reasonable price.

Tomorrow we see what else we can else we can accomplish towards our Fulltiming Adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. We found the best price on boxes was actually at Home Depot or Lowe's than the U-Haul or storage companies.

  2. The Dollar Tree usually has instant decaf coffee not a name brand though
