Backroad Route, Startling Delivery And Closer To Fulltiming.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Both Kathy and I figured that with all the medication we were taking in order to fight the cold/flu we both had we should sleep like a couple of rocks. Boy were we wrong! It seemed that we were out of bed at different times through the night and neither of us got more than a few hours of sleep. Even with the sun shining brightly into our apartment we just didn’t feel like getting up but we had to. As we were filling our kettle with water this morning you could sense the decrease in the pressure. We’d received notice the other day that the water was going to be shut off so that repairs to the hot water system could be made. We spent most of the morning reading on the computers until we got to the point that we felt we were in a cage. After quickly making plans a phone call and an early lunch I loaded the truck and we were off before noon. 

Being that we don’t drive the backroads too often in our area the only way we knew how to get to Wildwood Golf and RV Park was down Walker Road which would put us right into heavy traffic the day we bring the trailer out there in the spring. If we had just been taking the trailer straight there from storage that would have been the most practical route to take. However we intend to bring the trailer to the apartment building we live in one morning and have it filled with all the clothes and food we’ll be carrying inside then bringing it to the park so we needed a shorter route. By going on Google Map last week Kathy and I were able to get a bird’s eye view of all the backroads that would lead to the park. This afternoon taking the concession roads we drove past the park within twenty minutes of leaving the apartment. 

We were both feeling so rotten from this cold yesterday we had cancelled our weekly visit with Kevin and Melissa. We had gotten drinking water prepared before the water was shut at the apartment but we weren’t going to wait around until it was put back in service. I’d called Kevin this morning telling him we’d just drop off the area rug we were giving them but would not go inside to give him this bug. Fifteen minutes after driving by the park we arrived at Kevin’s home in Amherstburg. Kathy stayed in the truck while I brought the rug to stand by the back door. It seems that Kevin was listening to some tunes while replacing the kitchen faucet and had not heard the beeper on the truck when we backed into the driveway. He was coming out the backdoor just as I was standing the rug and it actually startled him. We had needed to get out and hoped by staying outside in the cold climate that we didn’t share our misfortune with Kevin. 

Kathy dozed a few times as I drove home and needed another Snap when we arrived. We are still having issues with our bank and I still need to get the Desktop Hard-Drive working on the computers while the electrician works on our heaters tomorrow and we continue making progress towards our Fulltiming Adventure.
