Started To Celebrate And Forgotten Gifts.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After neither of us getting a decent night’s sleep on Wednesday night we weren’t about to have a repeat last night. We not only had ourselves each a cup of Sleepy Time Tea but we stayed up well past our normal bedtime. We both fell asleep shortly after our heads hit our pillows and we stayed asleep until a very bright sun started shining through the edges of the curtains. I still managed to open the rest of the curtains in the apartment and complete my morning reading before Kathy woke up. We both felt refreshed at having slept so soundly.

With all our reading completed Kathy was attempting to create a special instruction list but just couldn’t get it to go together the way she wanted so she asked me if I could help. Remember a few days ago where I said you can create a lot of things by using Microsoft Excel. The first thing I did was copy Kathy’s Word document and paste it to Excel. Within minutes I’d moved things where she wanted them changed the picture for her and even printed it.

It was past noon hour when I needed to stretch my legs so I went to collect the mail downstairs. At that point I saw the flyers over the mailboxes that reminded me of a little Christmas celebration called Mingle and Gingle taking place in the party room. Returning to our apartment I told Kathy so we decided to check it out. There was turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, pasta salads, veggie trays, desserts and cold drinks. This was all being put on by not the new building owners but our manager Dan with the help of some of the other building workers. All the residents were invited so we had a chance to not only say hello but to socialize with them for a short while. Once we’d enjoyed a light lunch and more people were coming into the small room Kathy and I said our good byes and went back to the apartment.

The document that we’d printed earlier needed to be trimmed and then laminated to protect it from water damage so that took a few minutes. For someone who back in the middle of November proclaimed we were finished our Christmas Shopping to suddenly say we needed a few more things was really a shock to hear. We quickly put together a list of places to go and were out the door within minutes.

Our first stop was at Canadian Tire where we found a magnetic tool we’d been in search of for some time. Surprisingly it was a better design and price then others we’d seen advertised so that scratched off two of our other planned stops. We also walked around the store getting ideas for that extra little something we needed to find.

Next we went to Walmart where after walking around we managed to get a bit more than ideas. Walking back to the truck I was glad to be wearing a hoodie under my jacket which also helped to keep my head warm. Next we stopped at Staples where we lucked out by finding a plastic two drawer file cabinet that we’ll be able to store those documents we’ll be leave in the storage while we travel Fulltime in our trailer.

Our next stop was Value Village where we again dropped off more clothes that Kathy donated. It’s been nearly a month since we fueled the truck so the Pioneer gas station helped us deal with that. Driving across town traffic started slowing down and it wasn’t long before we saw why. Light s@#w was beginning to look like the start of a blizzard but luckily it only lasted about ten minutes.

Kathy had purchased a new watch a few weeks ago at Sears but because she has a large wrist they had to order a new band for it. We stopped in there but the band is still on back order. While there we stopped at the instore watch shop. When I retired I received two beautiful watches but by the time I went to wear them the batteries had died so we got those replaced.

It was nearly 5:00 by the time we’d finished all our shopping so we stopped at Taco Bell to have a very satisfying supper. We barely walked into the apartment in time to see the 6 o’clock News where the weather forecast is for below freezing temps again tomorrow. Sounds like a night to snuggle to keep warm. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. It goes well below freezing here at night, but beautiful during the day. But none of that white fluffy stuff.
