Slowly Making Gains.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night both Kathy and I had a bad night of sleep. Kathy spent nearly an hour tossing and turning before going to the computer. Unfortunately as soon as she felt tired she went back to bed only to lay there looking at the ceiling. My problem was different. I fell asleep almost instantly but would wake up looking at the clock every hour of the night. We both felt dragged out while having breakfast this morning. 

This strange sight would truly be appreciated in our area.

Once we’d eaten breakfast we made plans of what we wanted to accomplish today. The first was to once again to try and redeem our Collector Points that we’ve been trying to use since the beginning of September. Every time we tried online before some message would block us or tell us we needed to pay cash for the reward. A notice was recently sent out saying any points that we had collected more than five years ago would be cancelled as of January 1^st of 2016. We don’t collect the points fast enough to use for a trip and with what is happening in other parts of the world we’d rather not leave the ground anyway. Today using two computers we were finally able to find something that we could purchase with the majority of our points so they wouldn’t be lost. 

The sky closely resembled this today.

After having lunch we worked together preparing a hambone to make a broth that tomorrow Kathy will make into a delicious soup. We also made a batch of Royal Icing so that Kathy and I could make some snowflakes that will be used on a cake for our family Christmas celebration. You could tell that it’s been a while since we’ve done that kind of thing because by the time we’d finished both of us had very sore hands from squeezing the piping bags. We probably won’t see too many adults eating those snowflakes but we are sure the kids will love them because when Royal Icing dries it hardens like candy.

Having been cooped up in the apartment for the better part of the last week with very little sun shining in we had to escape the apartment for a short while this afternoon. Our first stop was the Bulk Barn where we picked up some supplies for a package we are putting together. Our next stop was the Dollar Store where we found just the right kind of wrapping for that package.

We were barely gone an hour and a half but it was approaching supper time and Kathy wasn’t in the mood to cook so I walked next door to the Chinese Food Restaurant. In less than ten minutes I was back and we had a delicious meal that filled the both of us and it didn’t even cost ten dollars.

Since we didn’t get everything on our list accomplished today we’ll be pushing a little harder tomorrow as our Christmas with our son and his family starts this Saturday.  Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
