Progress and Visiting.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Yes we slept in again! We didn’t get out of bed until 8:00 this morning. Of course the fact that we’re “Retired” lets us be lazy once in a while. There’s no time clock we have to punch and unless we have an early appointment there really is no reason to rush.
After having breakfast we did our usual reading before heading out the door after 10:00 this morning because we had appointments to get our hair trimmed back to more manageable mops. Kathy walked out of our building and immediately wanted to run back inside to grab our rain gear. I said if it was raining I’d drop her off close to the door.

We were on our way up Banwell road when the railroad signals came on. With all the traffic behind us we spent the next ten minutes waiting for a slow moving freight train to get by. We had no sooner gotten past the tracks when the rain started coming down in torrents. For the next five miles the car was getting power washed by the rain. We were less than a half a block from Fantastic Sam’s our destination when the rain came to an abrupt end and the sun came out.

Jenna our hair stylist already had another customer in her chair so we were a tad late for our appointed time but it all worked out. We were on our way home by 12:00 noon. Kathy warmed the last of the Homemade Chicken Pot Pie for our lunch while I phoned our son Kevin about using the table saw today to cut some boards for my friend Ross.

After lunch we made a quick stop at Kathie and Ross’s where I picked up the boards they wanted ripped. Heading up Walker Road we found out there was still a detour due to a bridge repair so had to head for Howard Avenue to get to Kevin’s in Amherstburg.

Kevin had needed to use the table saw for himself but kept putting it off. When I called at lunch that gave him incentive to do his job so when we arrived he already taken the saw out waiting for me. Notice how we seem to be rushing here but I had talked about relaxing in the first paragraph. Our grandson Cameron has exceptionally sensitive hearing so I scrambled to get everything done before he got home this afternoon. I had just put the saw away when he arrived.

Since it was still early Kathy and I went to Sun Parlour Trailer. Talking to Bill we found out that another worker Rick had had a heart attack near Woodstock resulting in Emergency Bypass Surgery. Cathy and Rob had gone up to help bring him back home. Bill had been left in charge for the day and it seemed everybody was either calling or stopping in giving him no chance to do any of his other work. We got a replacement latch for our forward storage compartment and some mold suppressor for our awning.

With more time on our hands we walked around the Air Conditioned Walmart. Even though our outside temperature for this area was in the mid-80s with the humidity it felt above the century mark. We spent nearly an hour and did walk out with a few more things scratched off our Cxxxxxxxs shopping list.

For supper we went to the local McDonalds where we took our time enjoying a Sweet Chili Chicken Wrap and Fruit Smoothie for our supper.

We used more time walking around Canadian Tire before heading back to Kevin and Melissa’s for our weekly Wednesday night visit. Kevin has made great progress on their remodeling project. The boys are both doing well in school but are looking forward to summer vacation soon. Melissa is slowly starting to feel more comfortable with her new job at work. The one thing that didn’t change was the fun and laughter we always enjoy when we visit them.

Tomorrow we still have a few things to scratch off our to-do list but each one is a step closer to our next adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
