Sharp Eyes.

Our Location today is Punta Gorda, Florida, USA.

We actually stayed up until midnight last night watching the news and the weather forecast. Almost on schedule the heavy rain that was forecasted started falling in waves starting around 2:00 in the morning that would continue until nearly supper time. The bright spot was that we didn’t have to shovel it like our kids cleaning up after yet another snowfall that once again blanketed Ontario yesterday.

Even though the skies would remain cloud covered throughout the day looking out the windows there was no mistaking how much rain had fallen. Throughout the park behind each row of RVs there are small grass covered washes that were filled with water. Luckily nobody had left their golf carts parked there overnight or it would have been a costly mistake as there was over a foot of water in each one. The evening news would later report that Punta Gorda had received over a month’s worth of rain in approximately fourteen hours 2.47 inches.

While Kathy was checking her E-mail this morning there was a question from my sister Anna who keeps track of our adventures by reading our blog. She asked what part of Florida we were in since we had moved on the first but our daily blogs still showed we were in Moore Haven. The fact that we were still fighting colds upon our arrival I’d forgotten to change our location at the top of the post. Thanks Anna we appreciate your sharp eyes. Since the weather was so rotten outside we spent most of the day on the computers. Kathy worked on our book-keeping while I corrected our location on the blogs and reworked one of my spreadsheets.

Closer to supper when the rain had finally stopped I went outside to see what kind of modifications I need to do so we can once again fly our flags. It wasn’t a day to be out exploring and there wasn’t even anything decent to watch on television. That’ll all change tomorrow with cooler but clear weather in our area. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
