Walloping Wind.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, USA.

On Sunday night’s blog the Krackers was a saying that I recall growing up to and constantly hearing that getting a good night’s sleep is the way to be healthy and wealthy. Going to bed before 10:30 last night we were both awake shortly after 6:00 this morning and we were both so congested that we couldn’t breathe enough to fall back to sleep. The fact that we are both retired we haven’t seen an increase in our pension cheque either. The person who created that saying surely wasn’t thinking of retirees that are dealing with sinus infections.

Watching the local weather channel while we ate breakfast we learned that the forecast was for rain throughout the morning followed by increased winds this afternoon. The high winds that were heading our way were the part of the same storm presently causing blizzard conditions in the northeastern states. To say that the forecast was accurate would have been an understatement. The torrents of rain hitting the trailer encouraged Kathy after taking her medication to try and recover some of her lost sleep. That gave me the time I needed to start closing the vent openings from the Fantastic Fan project.
Nothing different looking today.
By 11:00 the rain had stopped but the winds were blowing harder than they did the other day. It was bad enough that it woke Kathy from a sound sleep shaking the trailer. Looking outside we were worried about the wind destroying our Gazebo so I headed outside to add additional tie-downs in order to save it. Fortunately I still had extra rope and tent stakes and was able to better secure the gazebo by bracing it against the wind. The wind was actually blowing hard enough to push both the flags on the front of the trailer straight back without them hanging down.

After lunch I checked the parcel tracking and found that our additional parcel from Green Zone folding bicycles had arrived. With the high winds still blowing I simply drove the truck to the office to retrieve our parcel. This definitely would not have been a day to safely do any kind of work on top of the trailer today.

Rick and Elaine stopped over later in the afternoon to see how we were doing. Since our medical conditions are slowly improving we’ll be getting together with them later this week. Our meals today were light and simple but sustainable. Other than the cooler temperatures for the next few days we hope to enjoy better weather for our last few days at this park. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
