Got More Than What We Asked For!

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.

Shortly after posting our blog last night I had to go to bed. No Kathy didn’t tell me to. The sudden change to a warmer climate with 86 F (30 C) temperatures yesterday that I was outside working in was just too much. Not even after consuming lots of water and Gatorade did I feel right. Luckily we’d had a fairly steady breeze that helped to cool us somewhat. Kathy even felt drained but not as bad.
Notice the morning moisture hanging from the fence and vegetation.
When I woke this morning I was feeling much better and once we’d had our breakfast I knew that if I was going to complete the outdoors tasks today starting early this morning was a good idea. I managed to get the bikes, bicycle carrier and ladder off the back of the trailer. I also mounted the portable clothes line that easily mounts on our rear bumper installed.

Kathy was busy inside recreating some leftovers to a tasty but healthy meal that we enjoyed for lunch. Even though she was in the shade of the trailer with a breeze blowing through she was working over a hot stove. The chicken noodle stir fry tasted great and no food was wasted in the process.

After lunch we took a break from our chores and rode our bicycles over to the Library/Golf Grill so Kathy could take advantage of the book exchange program that has been set up at the park. Kathy was able find a good selection of books that she had never read from well-known authors. We’d also brought the trash along to dispose of since the drop-off is only located across the parking lot. On our return trip we also rode over to the office to see if our mail had arrived but were surprised to see that it is now closed on Sundays.

Even though our bicycle ride wasn’t lengthy it was in the heat of the afternoon so by the time we got back to the trailer we both needed to sit for a while to cool down. I finished the last few things that I needed to get set up so we’ll be comfortable for our stay.

Kathy didn’t feel like cooking supper and didn’t want me barbecuing in the heat so we decided to go out for supper. I walked over to Elaine and Rick’s trailer to see if they wanted to join us but Rick was still out golfing and Elaine didn’t know when he’d be back so she passed on their behalf but made a few suggestions of where to eat.

Unfortunately most of the small mom and pop places were closed because it was Sunday so we went back to The Log Cabin in Labelle where we’d eaten last year. We both enjoyed the half-rack of their Smoked/Barbecue Spare Ribs. Now we have had good spare ribs at many places but none were as fall off the bone tasty as these were and the atmosphere and service can’t be beat.

By the time we got back to the trailer the outside temperature gauge on the truck was reading 31 C (88 F) and there was no longer any breeze. When we left home on Christmas day we just wanted to get to where the temperatures were comfortably warmer. Right now our families are back home shoveling that white stuff with extremely cold temperatures and here we are having to turn on the Air Conditioning in the trailer to cool down. No Happy Medium!
No Breeze here but lots of clouds.around the moon.
Tomorrow we’ve got a few errands to run and a different types of chores to do. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Try the Foray Grill in LaBelle just before the bridge off rt29 if you get a chance.
