Unexpected Visitors, Hitting 90 and a Birthday Celebration.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night we both slept soundly mostly due to the fact we had two windows that were wide open which gave us plenty of air circulation. Kathy surprised me this morning by getting out of bed before 7:30 and I laid around for an extra five minutes.

The Weather Channel showed us that we better take advantage of today’s beautiful weather because starting tomorrow it will all be downhill. While finishing breakfast we had unexpected guest drop in for breakfast. Looking out the balcony doors at the grassy lawn used for walking dogs there was a flock of real live Snow Birds that suddenly appeared. From the balcony I was able to get pictures of some of the nearly hundred Canadian Geese scrounging the area for food to sustain them on their southern trek.

By the time we did our morning computer reading I knew I had to get things unloaded from the truck. Like it or not Kathy has resigned herself to the fact that our living room must once again become a workshop if she expects me to scratch more things off our to-do list before we head south in 85 days.

A smaller flock of the Canadian Geese were still resting in the grass about an hour later when I watched when some Idiot from the nearby neighborhood encouraged his dog to go after them and cut their rest time short. By the time I got out there he was nowhere to be seen.

We had an early lunch today so that I could go to the Blood Donor Clinic for my appointment. Since the other night when on the News they reported a six year low in blood supplies I felt even more compelled to go. It was also good that I got there early because suddenly the place filled with people coming in to make donations. Luckily they had over staffed for today so they could handle the extra people. Today was my 90th donation.

We spent most of the afternoon on the computers to pass some time away. Around 4:00 we went over to Princess Auto in search of a hole saw for one of our projects but they were out of stock for the size that I needed. Another quick stop at Home Depot wielded us the hole saw at a much higher price and a small piece of wood that I hadn’t counted on needing before.

Lastly we made it to the new location of Smoke and Spice by 5:00 for supper. This was not just any supper it was to help celebrate our grandson Tyler’s 13th Birthday supper. In attendance were his mom and dad Karen and Greg, his two sisters Ashley and Kylla with their boyfriends Mike and Noah plus both sets of grandparents Ray and Rose and Kathy and I. The barbecued food and all the sides were delicious and the service and atmosphere unbeatable. After we sang Happy Birthday to Tyler and had a slice of ice cream birthday cake did he open his gifts. It wasn’t until everyone was talked out with full bellies and doggie bags to boot that the dinner finally came to an end. Thank You Karen and Greg for inviting us to such a wonderful occasion.
Happy 13th Birthday Tyler.
Tomorrow the temperatures are supposed to drop quite a bit and it’s forecasted to rain all day as well. That sounds like a great day for an adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
