Cool Day of Outings.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

No we didn’t have any sleepovers last night and we both slept like rocks. Sounds kind of boring right? Well it should, you are supposed to sleep at night. In fact I slept so well I was wide awake at 6:30 so I just took my morning shower and shave. Kathy actually slept until 8:00 without me laying in bed next to her and found me at the computer doing my morning reading. Watching the Weather channel first thing we found the morning temperatures to be warmer than yesterday’s high.

Shortly before 9:30 we were out the door and headed to the Tecumseh Arena where our grandson Tyler was scheduled to play a game at 10:00. Karen and Greg and his parents Ray and Rose arrived shortly before the start of the game so there was a whole cheering section just for Tyler. Within the first three minutes of the game Tyler scored the first goal but that only helped to fuel the other team’s more mature players. What didn’t help was when the Referee missed when the other team’s defenseman elbowed Tyler in the throat. No penalty was called it was just another kid laying on the ice barely conscious and they say this is supposed to be a fun game. Unfortunately Tyler’s team wasn’t able to recover and lost the game.

Back home we answered some E-mails and read more blogs before having our lunch. Once that was over I waited a bit before calling our son Gary in Welland. They E-mailed that they had been trying to call us several times but for some reason it wasn’t connecting. Of course after talking to them they again tried and the call came through. Does that remind anyone of taking their car in for service and then the darn thing works just fine. Next I called my friend Ernie and talked for a bit. We discussed travelling medical coverages and the fact that at this time he is ineligible until such time that his doctor says he is Cancer Free. Kathy and I are still praying for you Buddy!

Kathy and I then took off for a ride to the local Home Hardware. These outlets are all privately owned in Canada and have many unique things as well as most normal hardware that you might need. Even though our main objective was just walking we still walked out with parts that I had written on a list back at the apartment. Even though we have just had our Canadian Thanksgiving and still have not had our Halloween yet the stores are really starting to stock up on Christmas decorations. Leaving there we stopped to have a coffee break at a nearby Tim Horton’s. This gave us a chance to do some people watching and talking about things to buy as Christmas gifts for next year. Only 431 days to go!

Now we headed to the Tecumseh Mall where we meandered around. We looked at everything from clothing to new laptop cases and we even made a purchase. Kathy’s slippers are starting to wear out so she found a comfortable pair at Payless Shoes. When we noticed the stores starting to close because Sundays they close at 5:00 we knew it was time to leave.

At the apartment Kathy coached me while I sautéed some nice Salmon filets. Keeping the meal light Kathy made a wonderful Spinach salad with Goat cheese and fruit. We felt satisfied but not overly full. Tomorrow we have things to do and places to be. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. Nice that Tyler scored the first goal, just to bad he did not do a few more. Another fun day here in Ontario.
