We Got New Shoes.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Just as if we were getting ready to hit the road we both spent most of the night tossing and turning because deep down in our subconscious we knew that the alarm was set to go off at 6:00 in the morning. We were both dragging but Kathy worse than me because she is not a morning person and I had gotten things prepared before going to bed last night to make our exit happen quicker. Kathy had stated she wanted to be up and having breakfast and out the door by 7:00. Check! She also wanted to pick up the trailer from the storage yard and be at the Good Year tire store before they opened at 8:00. Double Check!
We were there before 7:30 and since these people that do this job don’t earn a very high wage they only start arriving just before the start of their shifts. Before they started there was already a snag because the new tires for the trailer hadn’t arrived yet. Since the truck was getting new tires on the duals as well we simply unhooked and the boys did the truck first.

They said it would take just over an hour and if we wanted there was a nice little mom & pop restaurant around the corner. We really didn’t plan on eating but the cereal we’d eaten earlier was long gone so when we saw their menu include breakfast items we got rid of the impending hunger and ate again because we knew we’d be having a long morning ahead of us.

By the time we got back to the tire shop the techs had just finished with the truck and the tires for the trailer were just arriving. It took them less time to do the trailer and it seemed like everyone involved with the job was going around and retorquing all the wheel nuts. Of course we may have eaten a double breakfast but we definitely left there much lighter after replacing four tires on the truck and four tires on the trailer but we should be good for another four years on those wheels. Guess we won’t be adding any batteries to our trailer bank this coming year though.

It was 11:00 that we were parking the trailer back at the storage yard and we had only towed it a total of 10.7 miles round trip but we still weren’t finished our errands. Now we had to go back to Vehicle Venture so they could get the parts numbers off our Toneau Cover and Air Gate. The gate and cover rails were damaged on the 19th when we had our big oops in Niagara Falls and they had already been called by Dominion Body shop to order the replacement parts.

By this time the lack of sleep was already catching up with Kathy so as soon as we got back to the apartment she needed to take a not so short Snap in the recliner. I had phone calls to make to the Insurance Adjuster and Dominion Body Shop so they’d know things were now moving along for the after-market replacement parts for the truck.

I filled part of the afternoon assembling Kathy’s new desk/file cabinet and started rearranging the furniture in the office so we can put the new desk in place. Even though we were busy this morning neither of us thought to bring a camera so we didn't get any fresh pictures today. The rest of the weekend should be less hurried but we’ll be keeping busy. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
