Recovery and The Best Laid Plans.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

I was wide awake by 7:00 again this morning and Kathy was up a half hour later so by 8:00 we were having breakfast and watching the Weather channel as well. They were forecasting temperatures around 90F (32C) but a Heat Index of 100F (38C) for our area this afternoon.
Our plans to go grocery shopping immediately changed and we were scrambling out the door before 9:00. It was already feeling humid and for Kathy that is not a good thing. I dropped her off as close to the door of the Metro Grocery Store as possible and then joined her after parking the car. We were inside less than a half hour but I needed to sit on a bench and catch my breath while she paid for the groceries. Kathy also made certain to get between me and the shopping cart so that I wouldn’t go picking any of the bags up since the surgeon had said no lifting anything over ten pounds until after he sees me in a couple of weeks. Kathy herself is still struggling with the pain in her wrists and arms but she suffered through it.
Back at the apartment building she loaded everything into a shopping cart from the laundry room so that I could push it on the elevator while she parked the car. The surgeon also restricted me from climbing stairs until after I see him but there was a problem. As luck would have it the power had flickered earlier and came back on but the elevators were down for the count. After Kathy parked the car and climbed the stairs to the apartment she started thinking I was stuck in the elevator when she didn’t find me in our apartment. Luckily Kathy and Bonnie a friend of ours showed up at the same time and carried the groceries up the stairs to our apartment.
Kathy was upset when she turned around to see me coming slowly up the stairs. The first thing I did was to call the building management to inform them of the problem so they could get the elevators running again.
We worked on the computers on and off for the rest of the day and just before 6:00 a severe line of Thunderstorms rolled through our area. The News stated that our Heat Index had topped out t 104F (40C) and was slowly cooling down because of the rain.
Our daughter Karen called about then asking if Tyler could come over as they needed to go somewhere and he wasn’t comfortable staying home alone through this kind of stormy weather. He’s always welcome here for a visit besides he’ll be growing up before we want him to.

Again a big Thank You for all the well wishes for a speedy recovery from everyone but especially from Jill Thomas who is going through her own recovery after having undergone heal surgery. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
