Quiet Busy Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

The other day when Kathy was cleaning the pantry she was very disappointed that she had let a few items go past their expiry date. To both of us that is like throwing our money away. She also noticed a cantalope we had in the fridge that we had to use before it went bad. So this morning instead of having the same old same old for breakfast we had cantalope ala mode. It was large enough that we’ll be having the same for breakfast tomorrow.
Even with the window slightly ajar last night neither Kathy nor I slept well enough to feel rested when we got up this morning. Once we’d enjoyed our dessert for breakfast and seen the weather report that we’d be experiencing a cool down for the next week we headed to our computers. It’s nice to see more of the people that have sat still all winter starting to travel around and seeing sights that they’ve never seen before and others that are meeting fellow bloggers through their travels.
After we were caught up with our reading Kathy needed my help in order to make her own version of Date Squares. Because she is having so much trouble with her arms and wrists I was in charge of chopping the dates while she mixed the rest of the ingredients. While they were cooking in the oven we sat back at the computers for a little more planning. Hearing the timer go off meant it was time to not just take the Date Squares out of the oven but time to make Home Made Tomato Cheese Soup. Blanching the tomatoes was quick but Kathy still struggled slightly to peel them while I finished chopping them and slicing the chunks of cheese. As usual it was delicious and the only bad thing about it was there were not any leftovers for tomorrow.
Later this afternoon I needed to run an errand to the far side of Windsor to a place called Bogar’s on Huron Church Road. They didn’t have what I needed for the truck so they had to order it and it should be in on Wednesday. Our next stop was at Princess Auto where I picked up a few more clearance lights for the truck and a couple of steady casters for our trailer. More stops were made at the Dollar Store then Canadian Tire and finally Shoppers Drug Mart all before we made it back to the apartment.
Kathy immediately started making supper as soon as we walked in the door. The first thing I did was turn on the television to the 6 o’clock news that was just starting. I set the table and made the tartar while Kathy cooked Salmon fillets Asparagus and Macaroni and Cheese. Again we had another delicious meal.
Tomorrow we’ll have other things to work on so we’ll see how that turns out. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. I came from a large family so I hate it when I have food that spoils. It seems that I can never eat all the bananas before they turn "icky." However, not when they're really ripe I just put them in the freezer and use them for smoothies. :-)
