Well Fed Pool Day

Our Location Today is Thermopolis, Wyoming, U.S.A.

It is remarkable how soundly one can sleep after soaking in a Hot Spring Fed Mineral Pool. I am the last one to bed every night because everyone else is practically falling asleep while standing in the pool.

Wednesday after the pool was closed for the night the staff stopped the flow of water into the cool end and then drained it dry. There must have been a lot of happy fish down in the river. They then proceeded to steam clean the mineral deposits from that part of the pool. This procedure is repeated every two weeks and every other week to the hotter end of the pool.

Thursday morning after breakfast Kathy, Bill and Vera head off to the partially refilled pool while I packed up the laptop and headed for the laundry room. The last few days it has become almost impossible to get online in the trailer. Setting up outside the park laundry room made getting online feel like I was home on my PC. Pasting the post took less than a minute but uploading the pictures still was a timely process.

By 11:30 I had completed my chore and waved to Kathy that I was heading back to the trailer. Once I unloaded the laptop inside the trailer I went back outside to start setting up the barbecue as this was the day we had planned on having nice Sirloin Steaks for lunch. Kathy soon arrived to start prepping the side dishes that would complete the meal.
It was warm enough to lower the awning to keep cool while grilling the meat. Kathy then noticed two things. One there was a slightly cool breeze passing between the trailers and with the awning down and the cool breeze it was comfortable to eat out on the patio. Second was when she left the pool she had told Bill and Vera it was time to go for lunch. Would you believe she had to go back to remind them it was lunch time because they were just enjoying the warm comfort of the pool way too much.
Lunch was delicious and filling but with the warmth of the water Bill and Vera had been in this morning they needed to take a short nap. While they were doing that Kathy and I headed to the pool. When we arrived we were the only ones there for the first few minutes. The next thing you know four couples and five children were there to enjoy the comforts of the pool.
Kathy started feeling the effects of the sun so we packed up and headed back to the trailer to find Bill and Vera outside under the awning. Kathy went to lay down for a nap while I helped Bill repair the mask to his CPAP machine. He was amazed how quickly I was able to make it usable once again.
Everyone was enjoying the day so much it was decided we’d go to town for supper at the Safari Club which is the restaurant in the Days Inn Motel in Thermopolis. Since we had beef for lunch we all chose a different fish dinners.
By the time we ate our meals and got back to the campground we were ready to head back to the pool for the last hour before it closed for the night. By the end of that hour everyone was ready for a refreshing shower and their beds. It was a good day for all!

 Shop assistant: "Yes sir."

Man: "Good. Then can you please fit one on my watch."

  1. If the fires hadn't been put out we would have gone that direction too. It sounds like a lot of fun.
