Short Travel Day

Our Location Today is Limon, Colorado, U.S.A.

Tuesday morning was cloudy as we readied the trailer to hit the road. After all the drama we experienced on our way to Wheatland, Wyoming on Monday ahead of a storm this was very relaxing. As Kathy and Vera secured the inside of the trailer it didn’t take long for Bill and I to batten down the outside.

We were on the road after 9:00 M.S.T. and had light traffic all the way to Cheyenne where we stopped at the Flying J for fuel, exercise and a late brunch.

Back on the road it wasn’t much further before our direction started taking a more Easterly direction heading for Colorado. Since this was to be one of our shorter travel days this week we chose to travel at a more leisurely pace.

After bypassing Denver and its airport we made another unplanned stop when we spotted a Love’s Truck Stop. Since there was a McDonalds on site it seemed like a good idea to enjoy a Fruit Smoothie as a way to beat the heat.

Once back on the road it was less than an hour before we were pulling off the highway to the Limon, Colorado, K.O.A.  Five minutes later we circled the building to pull into our level gravel site with ample room for our size rig.

With all connections made and the trailer set up we all headed to the pool to cool down. What was noted that this was not the Fountain of Youth RV Park that we had left behind on Monday. This was definitely not heated but it wasn’t advertised as such either.

An hour later that cooler water temperature had Kathy and I leaving the pool in order to warm up. Since it was after 7:00 pm we were getting a bit hungry so we simply ordered a pizza that was made right in the park and delivered directly to our trailer. You couldn’t ask for better service.

We seem to be having a problem with the reception on the main television so after watching the local News and Weather we all headed to bed in preparation of more adventures today.

Thanks for following our adventures. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Hey! We found a Redneck one for you at a hardware store.

You might be a Redneck if the only candlelight dinner you take your wife to is when the lights go out.
