Leaving The Dells

Our Location Today is Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Today we were pulling up stakes at the Dells to continue our travels westward.
After having breakfast Bill and I headed over to the store so we could post the blog while Vera and Kathy prepared the inside of the trailer for travel.  I had cheated by writing it the night before so that it only would take a short time to post. By the time I signed on and moderated the comments Bill and I had a visitor. Vera came to the store to pick up something she needed so she got to see how we posted the blog.

Back at the trailer I flushed out the tanks as Bill helped closing things up.  It only took us a half hour to be ready to go but we all looked like we'd just stepped out of the shower with our clothes on. By 11:00 am. it was already over the 100 F (38 C).
Even the navigator got worn out from the heat.(Boy is he in trouble for this picture!)
The trip was only 200 miles for the day which took us over the northern end Mississippi River. We stopped off for lunch at a truckstop along the way so we could cool down and pickup some Wisconsin Cheese before leaving the state. Our waiter was very comical as well as informative when we asked about a Home Depot. Asking the directions of our travel he told us which town we'd find it and he was right on.
By 5:00 we pulled in to our campsite for the night. The temp was only 95 F (35C) a reel cool down.

I barbecued hamburgers while Kathy and Vera Prep things inside. After supper I raided the tool box and started the repairs in the trailer only to find the parts we purchased didn't quite fit. Plan B immediately took effect by pulling out the drill and adding a few new holes and the transition to the new parts worked better than the old ones.

Shortly after putting the tools away the park power temporarily went down due to all the big rigs that were pulling in off the road and immediately turning on both Air Conditioners to cool down. That put too much strain on a already overloaded system. By bedtime the trailer was cooled again with only one AC. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

  2. Yup, that happened to us at the park we were at... folks wanted to "run it all" and the park host had to keep resetting the breakers. He and Steve had to politely educate folks on how to run some of their items (fridge, water heater, etc) on propane and only run one roof air, and swap back and forth between two roof airs if they had them. Also one couple had an additional freezer in their lower compartment and wanted to run their convection oven along with BOTH roof airs....

all in a park with only 30 amp service???? LOL

It took 2 days to educate everyone that if they ALL cut back on power consumption, the breakers would not trip and we could all have comfort.
